Gut Microbiome Detection

Crosstalk between an organism and its gut commensal microbiota has both potentiating and detrimental effects on the immune response. Colohealth aimes to map the gut microbiome of our citizen. Maintaining normal balance of microbes in our body is beneficial to keeping potential pathogens in check and regulate the immune system. Microbes also perform essential functions such as digesting food and synthesizing vitamins.

Colohealth provides citizen scientists with a catalog of their own microbes; detailing the microbial composition of the body, and explaining what is known about each genera of microbe. In addition, colohealth compares participants’ microbiomes with numerous past studies, and pay attention to the role of the microbiome in health, diet and lifestyle. Colohealth also provides personal analysis tools and data viewers so that users can anonymously compare their own data to the crowd data, as well as with the latest scientific researches.
Our mission is using big data to understand the human microbiome. We’re all covered in trillions of bacteria. We help consumers and organizations understand what they are and what they do. We're using tools like machine learning, bioinformatics, crowdsourcing, Illumina Hi-Seq, and robots. The more people join the colohealth
community, the more statistical power the project will have to investigate connections between the microbiome and human health.

Clinical microbiome test

Colohealth is a microbiome screening test that uses advanced DNA sequencing technology to identify key microorganisms in your gut, both pathogenic and commensal.

How to test
Once you request, we will send you a sample kit. You swipe the sample brush across the corresponding sample site and send the kit back to us.Each sample kit has been carefully designed by our scientific team to enable us to extract and sequence microbial DNA from the human gut. After swiping the sample site, the cells are lysed in solution, the samples are sent to our laboratory for processing.

Request your test

Ask for a test is quick and easy . Click on the link below and we will let you know when it is available in your state.
Once the doctor orders you to test, we will mail your ColoHealth Collection Kit directly to your home.

Sample at home

Sampling can be done in your own bathroom at home and takes less than two minutes. Swab your toilet paper, put the swab in the tube and shake for a minute. Then, simply place your sample in the pre-paid return mailer and drop it in the nearest mailbox.

Detailed clinical report

Your microbiome might include microorganisms associated with conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, gas, or bloating. Find out more about the relationship between your gut conditions and your microbiome.
